License Management – Data Platform
On the License Management team, behind a high-volume customer-facing web application accounting for roughly 10% of John Deere’s annual revenue, I built a secure data-ingestion pipeline during a hackathon that proved the case for making license data available to internal teams while preserving isolation and access controls. The prototype directly contributed to forming the enterprise Data Engineering team.
Scope
This chapter was about safely opening data up inside the company: making license data useful to internal teams without losing isolation or access-control guarantees, behind an application that carried a meaningful share of company revenue.
What I built
- A secure data-ingestion pipeline, prototyped during a hackathon, that demonstrated license data could be shared internally while preserving data isolation and access controls.
Outcome
The prototype made the business case for a dedicated investment, directly contributing to the formation of a new enterprise Data Engineering team.
