PR to Production – Developer Experience
On the developer-experience team that owns the path from pull request to production, I built the tooling, governance, and automation that let the enterprise ship fast with security and separation-of-duties built in. The work spanned an event-driven compliance platform monitoring 50,000+ repositories, enterprise incident response, and AI-assisted diagnostics that cut production investigation from hours to minutes.
Scope
This work sits in the gap between source control and production, the part of the pipeline where teams want to move fast but the organization still needs hard guarantees around security, separation of duties, and operational visibility. The team owns the tooling, governance, and automation that make “fast” and “compliant” the same path.
What I built
- An enterprise event-driven monitoring platform that ingests GitHub workflow events into AWS-based compliance systems, detecting separation-of-duties violations across 50,000+ repositories and cutting audit-prep time by 75%.
- An intelligent diagnostic agent that correlates distributed logs and telemetry across core services, reducing production investigation time from hours to minutes on that same 50,000-repo platform.
- Canonical separation-of-duties documentation (reverse-engineered from an internal compliance service’s implicit scoring logic) that eliminated long-standing ambiguity for 100+ engineering teams.
Incident response
- Led blast-radius analysis for a secrets-exposure incident: scoped the impact to a few hundred repositories and tens of thousands of workflow executions, then shipped a dynamic burndown dashboard tracking remediation enterprise-wide.
- Led P1 incident response for a repository-settings policy rollout that overreached several hundred repositories beyond its intended scope: coordinating remediation, driving the postmortem, and reorganizing the team’s operating model to prevent recurrence.
Beyond the platform
- Acted as enterprise GitHub Actions SME for a Jenkins-to-GitHub-Actions migration, securing director-level buy-in and onboarding pilot teams onto shared workflows and GitHub Advanced Security.
- Closed platform blind spots with an automation that surfaces 100% of upstream breaking changes to stakeholders in real time.
Outcome
A tighter, safer PR-to-production loop across a very large repository footprint: compliance checks that scale to the enterprise, incident response measured in targeted minutes instead of guesswork, and governance that teams can actually understand.
